Make ChatGPT Answers Visual

Make ChatGPT Answers Visual

Give ChatGPT a format for the answer so a process, comparison, or sequence is easier to understand.

What this helps you do

Try five visual prompt labels and three interactive examples in ChatGPT.

Before you start

Open ChatGPT. Use your own topic or nonsensitive sample information. Interactive UI may be available only for some plans and questions. Text diagrams and tables are a useful fallback.

Terms to know

A prompt label is your own shorthand for a full instruction. It is not a built-in command. An interactive UI is a response with controls you can click or fill in.

Step-by-step

  1. Paste the five-label setup below into a new chat, then give ChatGPT your topic.
  2. Try /FLOWCHART for a process and /CONTRAST for two ideas people confuse.
  3. Try /VISUALIZELEARNING for a labeled diagram, /TIMELINE for dated events, and /STORYBOARD for a six-frame video plan.
  4. For an interactive example, ask how a seven-speed bike works and request parts you can tap.
  5. Try a road trip map or a bill splitter with fields for total, tip, and people. Test the bill splitter with $100, 0% tip, and four people. Each share should be $25.

Copy this

Paste this in the tool named above. Replace each bracketed detail with your own information.

Use these custom labels only when I type them.
/FLOWCHART: Map the process as numbered boxes and arrows. Label each decision.
/CONTRAST: Put the two ideas side by side with one concrete example for each.
/VISUALIZELEARNING: Make a labeled diagram, then explain each part in plain English.
/TIMELINE: Order the events by date. Mark unknown dates instead of guessing.
/STORYBOARD: Turn the idea into six frames, with one visual and one sentence per frame.

My topic is: [TOPIC].

Things to know

OpenAI’s Intelligent UI examples include a clickable bike explanation, map, and bill splitter. ChatGPT chooses a format based on the question and your access. The same prompt may produce a conventional answer.

If something goes wrong

If the slash label is ignored, paste the full instruction beside your topic. If an interactive calculator is wrong, give it a simple test case and check the arithmetic.

Final check

A pass is one clearly structured visual answer or a working interactive tool tested with known input.
